Other Costs to Plan For
Starting an agency comes with costs that are paid to other organizations, not to us. These vary by state, and we’ll go over them with you so you can plan:
- State licensing and application fees, paid directly to your state. These may be nonrefundable.
- Business filing fees (for example, LLC or corporation filing with your Secretary of State) and any local business licenses.
- Insurance and bonding your state may require (for example, liability insurance or a surety or dishonesty bond).
- Background check and fingerprinting fees for you and your staff.
- Office space, equipment, software, payroll and other operating costs.
What We Don’t Do
- Legal, tax or accounting advice. We’re not attorneys or accountants. Talk to a licensed professional for those.
- Finding clients or caregivers for you. We give you materials and guidance. Recruiting staff and getting clients are up to you as the owner.
An Honest Note
We help you prepare, but your state decides whether and when to issue your license, and that’s outside anyone’s control. We don’t guarantee a license, a timeline, clients or income. What we promise is clear, honest guidance and careful work on our part.
Not Sure Which Package Fits?
